Overpowered by a Giant

Humans name it 'The Hero Overpowering a Lion' and yes, it is a lion being choked by a human giant, possibly Gilgamesh. The hero is five-and-a-half meters high and that is too tall for an equal fight with a lion.
The sculpture dates from the neo-Assyrian period, the reign of Sargon II (721-705 BC) and is part of a monumental complex excavated in 1843 and 1844 by P.E. Botta. The sculpture can be seen in the Louvre in Paris.
