Humans must be very jealous about the strength and power of us, lions. Many human organisations have logo's based on lion symbols. As if such a symbol makes you a lion! According to a 13th century story, a prince saw a creature he believed was a lion and named the island 'Singa-pura' (Lion City) -- now Singapore. In 1986 a lion symbol was launched as an alternative national symbol for the national flag and the state crest.
