Lions in a Den with Daniel
Humanity produced many paintings of lions in the den with Daniel. One of the most famous is the painting of Peter Paul Rubens named 'Daniel in the Lions' Den', on which he worked during the years 1613-1615. The painting is in the collection of the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., USA.
Rubens painted lions in the same style as his voluptuous women. Before he started painting, he made a study of a lion only as seen on the famous picture right. The same lion is on the painting in the middle, next to Daniel.
